Yoga Teacher Training Course of Study

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga  

  • Cultivate Ujjayi (ocean breath), Bandhas (energy locks) and inward focus

  • Increase strength, stamina, flexibility and balance

  • Establish and deepen a daily asana practice

  • Receive and perform hands-on adjustments

  • Utilize the breath to calm the nervous system

  • Learn the balance of the "hard and soft" of your practice

Slow Flow Yoga

  • Utilize the complete yogic breath to its greatest effect

  • Deepen your understanding of poses and their effects

  • Begin to read the body and adapt poses appropriately

  • Sequence poses to create a balanced flow

  • Understand the root cause of ‘dis-ease’

  • Move the spine in six directions to maintain optimal health

Yin Yoga

  • Find balance between ambition and the contented natural state.

  • Learn to intergrate the balance of Yin and Yang within one practice, a balanced practice in one class. 

  • Emphasizes deep breathing and gentle deep tissue stretching.

  • Learn modifications for all ages and levels of physical capabilities

Anatomy

  • Learn to articulate the muscular-skeletal components of selected postures
  • Discover an anatomical understanding of the postures 
  • Learn safe, effective adjustments and modification

Meditation

  • Develop the faculty of concentration

  • Cultivate deeper levels of awareness and balance in mind and body

  • Establish a daily personal meditation practice


Practical Skills

  • Mentoring through practice teaching with feedback sessions for those interesed in teaching yoga

  • Assist others in experiencing transformation

  • Understand the guidance of individuals with special needs

  • Learn safe and effective adjustments and modifications 

  • Deepen the understanding of the sequencing of postures and structure of a class

  • Learn how to communicate effectively

  • Cultivate and facilitate deep relaxation practices

  • Learn empathic listening skills

  • Give and receive effective feedback

  • Study yoga history and philosophy
